Educational Dog Responsibility Video from Sesame Street

This is a great education video on dog responsibility done in the past by the crew of Sesame Street (which it aired on). The clip is about a girl doing a school assignment and for her assignment she is writing about her dog, Puck, and the responsibilities she has with Puck to feed him, give him water, make sure he exercises, etc.

Hachi: A Dog’s Tale Movie Trailer

A few hours ago we published a post about Hachiko, the amazingly loyal dog who would meet his master every day at 5:00 at the train station then walk home with him. But after less than a year, the master unexpectedly and suddenly died. Yet for nine years the dog continued to go to the train station and wait for his master/owner/friend.

Below is the movie trailer for the movie “Hachi: A Dog’s Tale” that tells the story of Hachiko.

Story of Hachiko the Loyal Dog

I have to preface this video with a warning. If you don’t like really sad dog videos then you may not want to watch this. This video is very touching and very sad. It gives a whole new meaning to a dog being “man’s best friend”. Back in the 1920s there was a dog in Japan named Hachiko that was very loyal to its owners. The two were best friends. Every week day the owner would go to his job as a professor at Tokyo University via the train. Every day at 5pm the train would return and Hachiko the dog would be waiting for him. For months this tradition continued and the dog was always overjoyed to see his owner get off the train as the two would walk home together.

Unfortunately the professor suddenly and unexpectedly died (hemorrhage). But the dog continued to go to the station every day and wait for his owner to get off the train… for nine years. The dog became a national celebrity for its loyalty. A statue in his honor sits at the train station and there have been books and movies made about him. The most popular book and movie about Hachiko is:

> Book: Hachiko Waits
> Movie: Hachi: A Dog’s Tale

The video below was fan edited to tell the story of Hachiko without words. It uses footage from Hachi: A Dog’s Tale starring Richard Gere…

Dolphin and Dog Movie

The creator of this video edited footage from Zeus & Roxanne and Spinner Dolphins to tell the story, through music and video without audio, of a friendship between a dolphin and a dog. At first the dog is curious about the dolphin, fascinated with with the dolphin (much like humans are). While out at sea on a boat, a disaster causes the dog to end up in the ocean as sharks circle ready to attack. But the dolphin saves the dog and a friendship develops as a result. Here’s the fan-made movie…
